Project position

Minecraft × Minecraft. Not a sequel. Not Minecraft 2. Minecraft, squared.

One coherent world—not hundreds of unrelated mods.

Minecraft² is an attempt to build a version of Minecraft where an enormous amount of additional terrain, structures, dimensions, creatures, combat, equipment, visual systems, exploration mechanics, and quality-of-life work feels like it belongs to the same game. It began as a large personal modpack and increasingly became an integration and development environment of its own.

Cohesion over raw mod count.

The project preserves Minecraft’s fundamental readability and freedom while making the world dramatically larger, deeper, and less predictable. Exploration should continually suggest that something exists beyond what the player already understands. A feature belongs because it contributes to that world—not merely because it can be installed.

  • Exploration and world generation
  • Structures, dimensions, and creatures
  • Combat, equipment, and visual systems
  • Client experience and quality of life

At this scale, installation is only the beginning.

Minecraft² requires original work around compatibility, content discovery, world generation, structure distribution, performance, startup behavior, visual presentation, and the ways independent mods interact. Targeted compatibility layers repair the integration where needed so the installation behaves like one curated game, without turning every repaired resource into a separate project.

  • Recipe, loot-table, and advancement repair
  • Datapack and resource precedence
  • Rendering and world-generation interactions
  • Startup, resource loading, and performance

A stress test—not a mandatory dependency.

Minecraft² is the primary development environment for several Sadistry Studios systems, but standalone tools should not unnecessarily require the pack. Where practical, development favors minimal dependencies, runtime or capability detection, optional integrations, and clean extension points. Compatibility beyond tested environments is not assumed.
